DIY Project# 5 - Rosettes Are Red, Violets Are Blue…
Danielle Lear of Turning Point Productions Videography
Paper rosettes are an affordable way to add color and interest to your wedding décor. They can be layered to create a beautiful backdrop for your cake, dessert bar, head table, etc.
All you need to make them is: -12” x 12” scrapbook paper -hot glue gun -scissors
To make the large rosette, you’ll need 3 pieces of the 12x12” scrapbook paper. Accordion-fold them in 1” sections, like you are making a paper fan. Then fold each fan in half and hot glue the edges together.
Next, hot glue the three folded fans to each other to create a circle (aka your paper rosette!).
To make a smaller rosette, you only need 1 piece of the 12x12” paper. Accordion-fold it into 1” sections, like you are making a paper fan. Then, cut it in half. Fold the halves in half again and hot glue the edges together. Hot glue the 2 folded fans to each other to create the smaller rosette.
You can stack the smaller rosettes on top of the larger ones and hot glue them in place. Mix and match stacked and un-stacked rosettes in different colored/patterned scrap book paper to make your backdrop.
