Q&A with the bride, Courtney

Did you do any DIY projects?

I did A LOT myself. I painted all the wine bottles and picture frames, created the wraps for the mason jars, did my bridesmaids bouquets, and made about 5 dozen burlap flowers that were used for the menus and other signs that I made.

What are your favorite details from your wedding day?

I loved how my centerpieces turned out as well as the banners I made for our sweetheart table and gift table.

Any advice for brides planning their wedding day?

Stop stressing once you get to your rehearsal/dinner the night before the wedding. At that point you can't really change anything and it's not worth the stress.

If you could go back and change anything on your wedding day, what would it be?

Get more done in advance so I could relax the week that both of our families came into town. On the wedding day I would have printed extra copies of my vows for my wedding planner so I didn't have such a freak out when I misplaced them!

What was your first step in planning your wedding day?

Booking the big items like venue, photographer, & DJ

Did you have a "First Look"?

Devin didn't want to do a first look so I ended up doing a first look with my dad. It was a nice moment to capture between us.

"Courtney & Devin's wedding day was beautiful!  You could see the love between them!  Courtney did an amazing job on her decorations! The James E. Bruce Convention Center did an amazing job of setting up the tables and draping throughout along with the food. We put the finishing touches on that day which included the Message in a Bottle table, gift table, guest book table, mason jars and flowers in the ceremony area and the cocktail hour decorations. We actually ran ahead of schedule after the ceremony which was great because everyone got to really enjoy the cocktail hour and reception! The day went very smoothly other than the 1 hiccup of missing vows! But it all worked out beautifully in the end! What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

Our "Exit." Since we wanted to stay until the very end we did a goofy dance with everyone there to kind of close out the night before people started heading home.
